My name is Emily Barnes and I am one of the science instructors at Hernando High School. I will be teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology and Biology this upcoming school year. I began teaching at Hernando High in the fall of 2015.
I am originally from Collierville, TN and a graduate of CHS. I attended college at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR, where I received a Bachelors of Science in General Sciences with a minor in Addiction Studies. I then attended and graduated from Northeast Mississippi Community College where I received my Associate's of Science in Dental Hygiene. I am a MS board certified (and practicing) Dental Hygienist. Both degrees and clinical experience serve as the perfect compliment to the science curriculum. I strive to relate the curriculum being learned in class to real world examples that deal with the human body and everyday life.
Outside of school, my husband and I have a 8 year old, four-legged fur baby. We both love to travel and watch college football even though our teams are rivals :) We welcomed our first child in July of 2019. Family is very important to me and plays a major role in my life. I am thrilled to have your child as a part of my class this semester. Please let me know if you ever have questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Emily Barnes
